“Alleviate“ was written from a place of love, loss and resilience, it was one of the quickest songs I’ve ever written. It’s a personal experience of someone I love deeply struggling with his health. I had bottled up so many emotions because I was caring for my family member. The only thing I was thinking about was how can I take his pain away, how can I make it better – and that was the foundation of the whole song. I felt so helpless seeing him helpless, and this song gave me the strength and a safe space to not give up and to try and give him some light in this darkness. At the end of the day, light always overcomes darkness and kindness goes a long way. Music is healing, so I wanted to alleviate him from his pain, hold him and tell him everything would be alright.
A lot of people go through family struggles, and I really hope that other people listening to this and going through the same thing can find some comfort.”
As the song unfolds, the listener can feel the sincerity and depth, echoing Diana’s commitment to be a source of comfort during a turbulent time. Co-produced with Alycce and Charlie en vogue, ‘Alleviate’ is more than a song; it’s a testament to the enduring strength found in human connections, offering solace and reassurance to those navigating the shadows.
